Mike Dabovich 1980

I went to Mulholland Jr. High School and played baseball with Mike at the Encino Franklin Fields when we were children, while he and his family lived on Texhoma Ave in Van Nuys. At some point we lost contact, but in recent years I frequently looked for him on Facebook. I never found him, so tonight, decided to Google him to test my luck. But I was not really having any. After seeing this message board, I was kind of in denial that this was the Mike I knew. But Chris noting Mike wearing the big puffy down jacket. And Kerry mentioning how Mike was able to spit through his front teeth. I knew it was the Mike Dabovich I played ball with. I am sad to see that he has left us. Mike was a good dude! Attached is a team photo of Mike when were children. I was not on his team that year, but we always were competitive together.

There are some people you never forget, Mike D. is definitely one of them. He was so athletic, adorable and was able to spit through his front teeth...I thought that was so cool...the things we remember. Here is my favorite prayer that I like to share: Native American Prayer - I give you this one thought to keep, I am with you still - I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not think of me as gone - I am with you still - in each new dawn... I hope that this brings you some peace. God is always ready to receive an Angel, but we are not always ready to let them go...

I had the pleasure to work with Mike on a few occasions.
He was an honest kind person who, like his brother Joe, truly cared for the welfare of the people they were serving.
My deepest sympathies to his family.

I went to high school with Mike. He was always sweet, charming and playful. I remember him in the mornings with his wet hair and big red puffy down jacket. I am sorry for your loss. Too young to leave us, but I believe he is peaceful and free of any discomfort, probably playing sports.
Keeping all of those who loved him in my thoughts and prayers, during this difficult time.
