Before, during and after we ran the 1994 LA Marathon together, Ray said to me with the biggest smile, "You gotta just embrace the pain, man, you worked hard for it!!" Thank you, Ray, for teaching me about joy and suffering. I miss you all the time brother...

Ray of our sunshine... Just another day in paradise, a quote from Ray. This is printed on a piece of printer paper, there is a bright yellow sun right by the quote, also I added a small pair of green plastic glasses by the sun. I see that every day. What a great inspiration, Ray we miss you!

Two years, and you are still loved and talked about here. And I still walk by the plaque outside of x-ray and kiss it. You would be so proud of Corey. You mentored him well. Love, Amy

My loving brother "Skipper" I think about you every day, I miss you so much, life without you has been so hard without you. But life goes on and I am blessed to have a brother like you in the world to share my life with. Mom has taught us to Love and our father taught us to be strong. My days are happier now with my beautiful wife Martha, when I look into her eyes I see the joy and loving spirit she holds and GOD's touch she share's. Her brother too has past and we share an equal bound how important each of you was to us. We both cherish each other and your memory and tangible love, will always be in are hearts until my last breath. May GOD bless you and hold you in his grace. Your brother Frank "Havie Baby" Solis, Love You.

A year has gone by. Sometimes it seems like just a few minutes and I relive the grief of knowing you are not here anymore. We've adapted but it's not the same. The plaque outside the xray suite (now named for you)is a reminder. Every time I walk by it, I give it a kiss and touch the plaque.

To the Family of Ray Solis,

Every time I had to walk into the Radiology room to have an x-ray I was happy to see Ray. He always made me comfortable and we could talk about anything because he was so easy going. I know that he was a treasure to your family because he certainly was one to our CSUN Family. May god bless you all in your grief.

Ray touched so many lives...with his smile, humor and optimism. He was a gift and a blessing to us all. He will forever remain in my heart.

He is now in paradise...where there are mountains to trek, rivers and oceans to swim. Nothing but joy, serenity and peace! Godspeed....

To the family, I will have you in my prayers, for you to find solace and comfort at this very painful time.

Our condolensces to the Solis Family. My husband hiked the trails with Ray behind Olive View Med Ctr. As he hiked the trails last Thursday he said the birds were chirping, the owl that he normally sees hanging out on a tree followed him up and down the trails. The coyotes were howling, WOW he said the trails were alive. I said to him Honey, it was Ray's spirit hiking with you.... Rest in Peace and I'm glad that I was able to meet you. You were such a wonderful full spirited man. See you at the trails:)

My brother is a light of love and everyone whom meet him would always like to stand in his light, thier where no mention of ( I can't ) in his vocabulary. His smile, compassionate, for the love of the great outdoors, was his heaven, he loved nature, and keeping fit, nothing could bring my brother down, I have learned a lot from him, how to love, care, and go forward on anything I do. I will miss him dearly, every day of my life, GOD loved my brother and I loved him. My heart is heavy with sorrow, however thinking of him brings me joy, to share with my wife and family. I love you very much brother.

I am truly honored to have known and worked with you for the last 21 years. Your "joie de vivre" was an inspiration to me and many others. You were a beacon at the SHC and it will be dimmer without you. I have so many good memories (the bbqs, the Halloween costumes, your words of encouragement and your fierce determination to keep a positive outlook) that I will keep in my heart forever.

His smile says it all! Ray did more in his lifetime than most of us could imagine doing in 100 years. He lived his life to the fullest and with unbelievable optimism and energy. In addition he gave more than his share to others. He gave us each a part of himself to keep always as a special treasure.
Wishing many blessings to his family.

Ray was a blessing to me at work. He was like a father or a older brother always helpful and an encourager. He always had a smile and never complained. Ray will never be forgotten.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.
