James Byrge Obituary

Jay Byrge took his first breath in Heaven on Dec. 15. He loved the Lord and was ready to go home. He was a loving husband, father, papaw, brother and friend. He was a proud veteran of the Air Force. His favorite things were his family, hunting, the outdoors and a good western.

There to welcome him home were his parents, Everett and Ruby; and seven of his siblings who he missed dearly, Thomas, Glenn, Maria, Charles, Ernest, Susie and Clara.

Jay was a steady rock for the family he left behind. Many wonderful memories will comfort his wife of 48 years, Sharon; son, JT (Annette); daughters, Apryl, Shannon (Gary), Camille (Jim); baby sister, Sherry (Ben); and sister-in-law Alice; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

He was an amazing Papaw to his grandchildren, Hank, Mariah (Michael), Andrew, Lexy (Cody), Cody, Prestyn, Jack, Josh, Ciara (Dominic), Luke and Frank; great-grandchildren, Addalyn, Eli, Norris, Jax, Eleanore, Hazel and Memphis. He had many nieces and nephews who loved their uncle Jay. He had two special friends who were like brothers, Jerry and Eddie, who will miss him dearly.

A graveside service was held at Greenwood Cemetery on Saturday, Dec. 18.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Tri-County Honor Guard, P.O. Box 362, Maynardville, TN 37807.

Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
