Lena Prutsman Obituary

Lena Prutsman, 95, of 131 Hope Wier Lane, Jacksboro, died Sunday, Sept. 4, at UT hospital in Knoxville after a housefire the same day.
Survivors include her husband Gerald of 71 years, and two children Keith (Diana) Prutsman of Jacksboro, and Sherry Dhom of Oneida; four grandchildren, Michelle Prutsman Uranga of Port Angeleåçs, Washington, Justin Prutsman of Jacksboro, Neil Day, of Mattoon Illinois, and Eric Day of Pittsburgh; six great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She loved her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents James Ross and Amanda Jane Jennings; sister Hazel (Don) Harris; brothers Fred Martin Jennings, James Ross Jennings Jr, Eugene Jennings, Hubert G Jennings, Rufus Jennings, and half-brother Ralph Ernest Jennings.
Lena was born April 3, 1927, in Gate City, Virginia.
She was a graduate of Shoemaker High '45.
You wouldn't find Lena in the kitchen as often as you would find her in the garden with her hoe; she loved tending to the garden and growing flowers.
She started each day selecting a cap or hat, as she had many.
She loved her Irish heritage, ready to dance a little jig.
She loved to travel, and she did, making it to all 48 contiguous states.
Say the word "go" and she was ready.
Her trips to Ireland were the favorite.
Funeral services were private with immediate family.
