Sarah Chaniott Obituary

Sarah Hollingsworth Chaniott, 84, of Vass, N.C., formerly of LaFollette, died May 9 at her home in North Carolina. She was a member of the LaFollette United Methodist Church where she enjoyed being of service in the life and ministry of the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Chaniott; daughters, Beverly J. Chaniott and Marcia Chaniott Kenny; parents, Delbert L. And Jennie LeQuire Hollingsworth; brother, Delbert LeQuire Hollingsworth.
She is survived by her children, Wayne R. Chaniott of Norris; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Sam Higdon of Vass, N.C., Roger Neal Chaniott of LaFollette; son-in-law, Louis Kenny of Johnson City; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary H and Vance Sharp of Florida; Kathryne H. and John Barbee of Illinois; sisters-in-law, Nell Chaniott of LaFollette and Sue Hollingsworth of Florida; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many beloved nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and special friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to her daughter and son in law, Pam and Sam Higdon, and their families for the wonderful care and special home they provided over the past seven years. The family would also like to thank Jeannette Kucan for care in the home when additional support was needed.
Her friends and community played a vital role in her life as she was involved in the Linden Park Neighborhood Club, the Campbell County Historical Society and wedding chapel, Garden Club, and Christian Women's club. She loved any opportunity to spend time with each and every member of her family and made every occasion a special one. She especially enjoyed traveling with her sisters, Mary and Kathryne, and other family to include locations in Europe, Hawaii, Ireland, and various cities across the United States.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.. Saturday, May 18 at Walters Funeral Home.Ê A memorial service in celebration of her life will take place at 3 p.m. on May 19 at Lafollette United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Lafollette United Methodist Church, 808 East Central Ave., LaFollette, TN 37766, Campbell County Historical Society, 235 East Central Ave., LaFollette, TN 37766, or the charity of your choice.
Walters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
