Mr. John Harold Willoughby, of LaGrange, died on December 29, 2014 at the Upson Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Willoughby was born on September 14, 1939 in Cedar Springs, Georgia to the late James S. and Doris B. Willoughby. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Ford and was a Vietnam-era Veteran. He and his wife Linda were the proprietors of Paul Cole Drug Company in LaGrange for many years. Mr. Willoughby resided at Golden Living in Thomaston, Georgia at the time of his passing. He was a gifted raconteur, and in his own words, "a gentleman, and a scholar - a judge of fine horses and beautiful women" and now there are even fewer of such men left today.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Latimer Willoughby; brothers, Donald A. Willoughby and his wife Barbara and Ralph Willoughby and his wife Karin; bother in law, Jim Latimer and his wife Millie; children, William Blake Willoughby and his wife Sandy, Tessa Willoughby Carr and her husband Chris, Anna Willoughby Odom and her husband James Odom, Jr., Mary Kate Willoughby and Erin A. Willoughby; 6 grandchildren, 3 grand children-in-law and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 1:30 pm at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel. A brief interment service will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 12:30 pm until service hour. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to the Interfaith Food Closet or LaGrange Personal Aid Association as Mr. Willoughby was always most concerned with helping others.
