Mrs. Reba Brown King, age 87, of LaGrange, died on May 24, 2014, at the Twin Fountains Home.
Mrs. King was born on April 14, 1927, in Carrollton to the late Rev. Ezra Lee Brown and Annie Mae Rooks Brown. She was previously employed at the Troup E.M.C., Hillside Drugs, the Auction Way and as Poll Manager for the Mountville District. Most of her life however, was spent as a homemaker caring for the needs of her family. She was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church. In addition to her father, Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Paul T. King and two grandchildren, Rusty Pike and Shannon Camp.
Surviving are her children, Phillip King and his wife Sherri of Pine Mountain, Regena Lockhart and her husband Gary of LaGrange, Cathy Pike and her husband Wayne of Noblesville, Indiana and Brenda Bishop and her husband Bobby of LaGrange; sisters, Mildred Browne of Florida, Myrtis Haley of Sugar Hill, Ga., and Christine Williams and her husband Jim of Van Wyck, S.C.; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel with Rev. Max McCord officiating. Interment will follow at the Restlawn Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends on Tuesday morning one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. On line condolences may be sent to the family at www.higginslagrangechapel.com. Sad to just hear about Aunt Reba. I know her and mother were close at one time. The family has drifted apart since mom's death and I did not even know until today. May God comfort you in your time of loss.
