Ruby Dowell Obituary
Miss Ruby Dowell of 1002 Second Avenue passed away Thursday at the Columbus Regional Medical Center.
Miss Dowell, a native of LaGrange, was born January 22, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Walter and Annie Mae Moss Dowell. She was formerly a foster grandparent at Berta Weathersbee School.
Survivors include her daughters: Gloria Cameron and Iris Dowell, both of LaGrange; son, Andy Dowell, Hollywood, FL; grandchildren: Pam, Traci, Niolettle, Bryant, Keturah, Callie, Tiffany Parker, Sandy Dowell, Miranda Dowell, Cassy Fannin, Andrew Dowell; eight great-grandchildren; sister: Robin Lindsey; brothers: Walter Dowell (Ernestine), LaGrange; Alfred Dowell, Detroit, MI; stepson, Charlie Glenn Jr.; special friends: Carrie Allen, Flint, MI; Katie Gilbert, LaGrange; Mrs. Robert Cameron, Ms. Irene Ferrell; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gary ("Sweet Pea") Dowell; son, Larender Dowell; brothers: Albert Dowell, Kelley Dowell, Sims Dowell; and sister, Dora Hamilton.
The Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at 2:00PM at the Central Baptist Church on Hamilton Street. Dr. W. T. Edmondson will officiate. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will be at their home.
