Dear Lou,
One after another my friends are disappearing . Lee's departure is hard to grasp. He was such a great friend, always positive, happy and helpful. Jenny and I got to know him as a young attorney through Admiral Charles Wheelock back in the 1950's and we developed a lasting friendship.
I regret not being able to join you at the memorial due to my immobility at age of 94 but my thoughts are with you on this day of celebration of his life and achievements.
With deep compassion and warmest greetings,
Gustaf Arrhenius

Sending loving condolences to Mrs. Campbell, Bear, Chantry, and their families on Mr. Campbell's passing. I can imagine how much he will be missed. He was always so kind to me growing up, in the Boy Scouts, and in later years seeing him on the street in La Jolla. In Scouts in the sixth grade I canoed a long stretch of the Colorado River with him, and he was such great company. We discussed the birds we were seeing, the geology, weather, and the river itself. He was such great company on that trip. I feel fortunate to have known him.

I had the pleasure of knowing Leon working in the same law firm space beginning in 1975 and then again in 1987, thanks to Virgnia's kind referral. I also covered Virginia's desk and worked with Leon directly while she was out for several weeks. I sat across from Leon and Virginia for many years. He was always so dignified and eloquent, not to mention caring. His family would visit and I saw what a loving husband and father he was. I am saddened that this world will be without him, however, the world is definitely better because of him. Blessings, love and light, Christine Nagy
