Alice M. Schaeffer

Schaeffer, Alice M. 90 years old, of Lake Villa, IL passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 16, 2012 at Aurora Medical Center, Kenosha, WI. She was born March 30, 1922 in Albia, IA the daughter of the late Axel and Suzanne (Brewer) Peterson, living in Chicago, Lindenhurst, IL and Antioch, IL before settling in Lake Villa. Alice worked and was part owner of Woodland Reality since 1974. She was a member of the Real Estate Association and worked and supported the Lake Villa Lions Club and Lake Villa Rescue Squad. Alice loved: shopping, estate sales, gardening (being dubbed the "Arbor Day Queen"), baking, Cadillac's, and especially spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. On May 4, 1940, she married Victor J. Schaeffer in Chicago, IL and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1988. Survivors include: two children, Chris (Don) Jackson of Lake Villa, IL, and Nancy (Bob Kokum) Jones of Libertyville, IL; two grandchildren, Victoria (Ted) Morris of Spring Grove, IL and Jennifer (David) McKenzie of Lake Villa, IL; four great-grandchildren AKA "partners in crime," Ryan and Rachael Morris, Emmaliegh McKenzie, and Jonathon "Jack" Ryan; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven siblings. Funeral Services will be held 11AM Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL 60002. Interment will follow in Millburn Cemetery, Old Mill Creek, IL. Visitation will be held from 5PM until 8PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
