Aerne, Delores Ann Of Zion, IL passed away Monday, November 24, 2014. She was born April 1, 1926 in Granite City, IL, the eldest daughter of Fred and Catherine (Dickman) Moser. She was a graduate of Granite City High School, and married Arthur Aerne on August 10, 1946. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Chicago, IL and then to Round Lake. They lived in Round Lake Beach until moving to Lake Villa, IL. Lori worked as a secretary at Antioch High School, and left that to run the Hobby Barn in Antioch from 1971 until 1981 with her husband. She was an avid painter and taught macramé and other crafts. She was also active in the AARP All Stars, and avid duplicate bridge player. She continued to paint long after the store was sold. From 1981 until 2005, she traveled with her husband throughout the United States in a motor home and spent a great part of the time in Casa Grande, AZ. After living in Bristol, WI for the past four years, she and her husband recently relocated to Rolling Hills Place, Assisted Living Center, Zion, IL. Delores is survived by her husband, Arthur; four children, Toni (Bill) Woodmaster of Lake Villa, IL, Louis Aerne of Lake Villa, IL, Gary (Debbie) Aerne of Lake Villa, IL, and Robin (Suzy) Aerne of Lake Villa, IL; eleven grandchildren, Joel (Tracy), Ian, Nathan (Kristin), Dominic (Amy), Matthew, Layla (Rolf), David (Laura), Laura (Rich), Nicole, Taylor, and Kyle; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Tina Cashen and Freda (Robert) Kraus; her brother, Bill (Ellen); a sister-in-law, Carol; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas; a brother, David; sister, Edna (Herb) Ward; and a brother-in-law, Robert Cashen. A memorial visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St., (Rte. 83) with a celebration of her life commencing at 3:00 p.m. INFO 847-395-4000.
