Dear Aunt Abbie, Justin and Janay, I just wanted you to know how very much I will miss My Uncle Don! My earliest memory is of him. He lived with us(his bedroom was the attic)when I was 3 yrs old. He would give me a dollar for scratching and rubbing his back. I think all the Hanlin's asked this of me at one time or another. lol I remember him talking on the phone to his girlfriend "Abbie" and stretching the cord out! haha I remember her coming to the house too. I remember when he left for the marines. How sad I was to see him go knowing he might not come back and to be losing out on the back scratching money! But he came back! He always came back to visit, or play with us kids. I remember when I had problems I could talk to him and he would listen but not tell my secrets to anyone and when the time came for me to get married and I asked Him and Rhonda to sing at the wedding, He said nothing would make him happier than to do that for Joe and I, Rhonda too! I remember going to see him in rehab after the stroke, again he came back us! I know why he always came back. It was because Jesus knew at those times, we needed Uncle Don more than him! By Uncle Don not coming back this time , makes me assured that Jesus needed him more than us this time! And I'm o.k. with that because I would rather have Uncle Don walking with Jesus in heaven, then being here in pain. I will never forget the song "feliz navida", I don't know if that is spelled right, he sang it so right! Thank you Uncle Don for being a big part of my life, whether you knew it or not! I love you so very much! Always and forever your flowergirl Kelly D
