Frank Thode Obituary
Frank A. "Dutch" Thode 71 years old of Wildwood, IL, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL.
He was born August 23, 1935 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Edward C. and Irene (Mink) Thode, moving to Antioch, IL and settling in Wildwood in 1993. Dutch served in the US Air Force, was a past member of the American Legion in Gurnee, IL, and attended Joy Lutheran Church, Gurnee, IL. Before his retirement he had owned and operated Active Detective Agency in Chicago for over 20 years, owned Dutch and Suds Towne Club in Lake Villa, IL, and owned the Twin Lakes Inn. His special interests included golfing, fishing, traveling, and cheering on the Chicago White Sox, and Chicago Bears. On April 28, 1956 he married Esther "Suds" Nelson in Chicago, IL.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 51 years, Esther; three children, Debby Thode of Wildwood, Scott (Sharon) of Antioch, IL, and Steve of Wildwood; two grandchildren, Keeley and Kyle; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy; son, Brian; grandson, Scotty; two brothers, Wallace and Howard; and a sister, June.
Funeral services will be held 10AM Wednesday February 28, 2007 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte 83). Interment with military honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Antioch, IL. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4PM until 8PM at the funeral home.
