Jay "Mark" Rosenberg

1948-2018 Jay Mark Rosenberg, 70, of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin died peacefully Saturday, June 2nd, held closely by his family. Mark was a good man. He always had the courage to be himself; he made friends easily and kept them for life. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 36 years, Susan (Miller). Mark had a devoted love of his children Kara (Josh) Klein and Seth (Emily Barrett, soon to be) Rosenberg. Always encouraging, protecting, defending and teaching; his legacy to them is their loyalty, kindness and strong moral compass, with a bit of disorganization and messiness. He was struck by the wonder of his granddaughters, Hazel and Lila Klein. He loved their little hands in his, their big grampa I love you hugs, and their sparkly dancing shows. His tears came when they left knowing he would miss so much. He looked forward to family gatherings, enjoying the buzz, with the hope of instigating a contentious, thinking political discussion. Though, actually, he was always irritated that Thanksgiving dinner had to interfere with football - "And who eats dinner at 4 o'clock anyway?" He played family and school sports which lead to a life-long passion for all sports including fishing and horse racing. It was difficult keeping him focused for the birth of our daughter during Monday Night Football (Raiders, 27; Miami, 14; Kara, 8.6#). He studied fish habits and patterns when he wasn't working the numbers for the next horse race and keeping an eye on a Yankee's game. Mark was raised in Morristown, NJ, son of Jessie and Herman Rosenberg, and devoted brother to his sweet sister, Gina. He greatly loved his large, close family of cousins, aunts and uncles, in-law sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and friends. If he loved you, you knew it. His hugs were real and if you got one he meant it. Mark's generous attention, laughter, good humor, and sense of fair play will stay with us throughout our lives.
