Lois M. Scott

Scott, Lois Marie 75, of Gurnee, IL made her heavenly transition on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL. Lois was born November 6, 1936 to the union of Gloster and Dollie Hicks in Clarksdale, Mississippi. She was raised in the Waukegan area where she also attended school. Lois united with Robert Scott, Sr., until his death in 1974. She worked as a teacher's aide at Carmen Elementary School, Waukegan for many years. Later she went to work at Fansteel as a machine operator where she later retired. She leaves to cherish her loving memory four daughters, Nannette (Tyrone) Plaines and Sherry Cooper both of Waukegan, IL, Vanessa Scott of North Chicago, IL, and Dollie (Willie) Scott of Toledo, OH; four sons, Tyrone Smith of Waukegan, IL, Ryan Scott and Robert C. Scott, Jr., both of Atlanta, GA, and Darrell (Betty) Smith of Grand Rapids, MI; two sisters, Salone Hawkins and Beatrice Hicks, both of North Chicago, IL; a son-in-law, Kenneth Woods of Toledo, OH; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gloster and Dollie Hicks; her husband, Robert C. Scott, Sr., 3 children, Lucille Woods, James (Roger) Scott, and Detrice Cunningham; 2 brothers, Gloster and Samuel Hicks; a sister, Lucille Hicks. A Celebration of Her Life Service will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Greater St. James Temple C.O.G.I.C. 2131 Wright Avenue, North Chicago, IL.
