Betty Jean Jones

1946 - 2021

Betty Jean Jones was born August 7, 1946, in Lake City, Florida (Columbia County) to the late David Sr. and Lucy Mae Fudge. On Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at the Lake City Medical Center, she began a new chapter filled with love, peace, serenity, and everlasting joy. No more pain, suffering, or sorrow, only rejoicing in that heavenly bliss.
Betty graduated from Richardson High School with the class of 1964. She accepted Christ and was a faithful servant at Olivet Missionary Baptist Church for many years, joining at an early age. She served on the usher board, pastor's aide club, and district leader during her tenure until her health declined.
You could find Betty fishing every Wednesday and playing Pokena every other Friday night. Many knew her as "Big Ma." She did not merely exist but rather achieved dignity and respect throughout the community by touching the lives of many.

(Peggy), Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren Rotondo Jr., Vanessa, Shenell, Alexis, Javan, and Melvin; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Lucretia Williams (Shelly); aunt Rosa Frazier; uncle Willie Wells, Lake City, FL; hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services for Betty Jean Jones will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the Richardson Community Center, 255 NE Coach Anders Ln. Pastor Henry Ortiz, Eulogy.
Walk-through viewing will be from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2021, at the funeral home.
