Gregory O'neal Obituary

"A precious one from us has gone, a voice we love is still. A vacant space is in our hearts that only God can fill." Gregory (affectionately known as Greg or "O") Leonard O'neal, 63, resident of Lake City, Florida, heard his name and answered The Master's call on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Lake City Medical Center. He was the second of four children born to the late Leonard and Eloise O'neal on the 30th of January 1962. His youngest sister, the apple of his eye, Michele O'neal, precede him in death. He received his education in the public schools of Columbia County, graduating with the class of 1980. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army for four years and received an Honorable discharge.
Gregory accepted Christ at an early age and joined Olivet Missionary Baptist church under the Pastorage of the late Rev. Clarence Dunnell. He was a very good neighbor and a pillar in his community. He loved to cook and was co-owner of Kountry Korner Restaurant, Lake City, FL. He was the kind of man whose heart beat a little faster when the open road stretched out before him, the hum of his motorcycle carried him toward new places and unforgettable adventures. Traveling filled him with life, each journey adding another story to the warmth he already shared so freely. Whether he was cheering on his favorite team or laughing with the people he loved most, he brought an energy that made every moment feel fuller and brighter. With family and friends, he was grounded-steady and genuine-proving that no matter how far he roamed, his heart always knew where home was.
Gregory leaves Precious Memories for Loving and Devoted family: Dedicated Son: Alexander Jones; Precious Granddaughters: Aniyah, Sariyah, and Alexis; Protective Sisters: Wanda O'neal-Sheppard (Jesse) and Felicia Anderson (Tony); Brothers: Gerald Hamilton and Dewayne Cason (Iris). Beloved Nieces and Nephews: Virnecia, Tiffani (Jarrell), A'sha, Corde', Cason and Caleb. Loving Fiancée: LaQuasha Dixon and her son, Donnell Dixon. Goddaughter: JazMyne Bradley-Maxwell. A host of Sorrowing Cousins, Friends, Uncles and Aunts.
Visitation and the receiving of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the start of the celebration of life services. Celebration of Life Service for Gregory Leonard O'neal will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 23, 2025, at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 550 NE Martin Luther King Jr. St. Lake City, FL.
