Jay Anders Obituary

Mr. Jay Jennings Anders, 86, of Lake City passed away November 23, 2008 following an extended illness. Mr. Anders was born in Gary, West Virginia. He was a Naval Veteran serving from 1942-1947. Mr. Anders worked for A-1 sandwiches for over 20 years. After retiring he worked at the Price Quick Stop in Lake City becoming friends with many of the patrons. Many friends remember him through the Columbia County Flea Market where he also enjoyed working for over 20 years.
Mr. Anders is survived by two sisters Nell A. Boyer of Galax, Virginia and Rossie Anders of Roanoke, Virginia and two special friends Neal Feagle and Randall Saunders both of Lake City. Several nieces, nephews and other family members also survive.
A memorial service in celebration of Jay's life will be held at a latter date in Galax, Virginia where he will be buried in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
