Mrs. Macie Denise Sauls

Mrs. Macie Denise Sauls, age 67 of Lake City, passed away Monday, December 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Jacksonville to the late James and Mildred Leggett Cribbs, she spent most of her life in Lake City. She was a 1976 graduate of Columbia County High School and worked as a dispatcher for the Columbia County Sheriff's Department for over twenty-five years. Denise then became a home health caregiver and for more than fifteen years served many local families. She enjoyed growing flowers and spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She was also devoted to caring for her animals. She is survived by her husband of forty-nine years: Gerald E. Sauls; brothers: Fred (Trish) Cribbs of St. Augustine, Billy (Barbara) Cribbs and Terry (Frances) Cribbs, all of Live Oak, Calvin (Shirley) Cribbs of Wellborn, and Dewey (Linda) Cribbs and Rodney (Tammy) Cribbs, all of Lake City; step-sisters: Patricia Strickland and Gail English, both of Lake City; numerous nieces and nephews and her best friends: Judy, Donna, and Kathy. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather: Willard English; sisters: Shirley Ann Cribbs, Patsy Williams, and Betty Bruce; and a brother: Bobby Cribbs. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Thursday, December 4, 2025, in the chapel at Guerry Forbes Funeral Home of Lake City with Reverend Pat Chewning officiating. Interment will follow the service at Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery, Lake City. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
