Dorothy Annis Obituary
Graveside services and burial were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 12 at Quanah Memorial Park, Quanah, TX.
The family is being served by the James O'Donnell Life Celebration Home of Monroe City.
Dorothy was born on December 15, 1933 in Terrell, TX to Howard and Fern Piper Coffman.
She was married on January 4, 1954 in Dallas, TX to CS Annis. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2005.
Also, preceding Dorothy in death were her parents, one sister, Linda Coffman and two brothers, Freddie Coffman and Jimmy Coffman.
Survivors include four daughters: Pamela Shuck (Jeff) of Hunnewell, MO, Debra Klaskin of Dallas, TX, Jacqueline Cartwright (Hoss) of Fayetteville, AR and Darla Gatlin (Ken) of Fayetteville, AR. Other survivors include numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for many years prior to her retirement.
Away from work, Dorothy loved to travel, visiting much of the United States. An occasional visit to the casino to play the slots or a game of blackjack were also pleasures that Dorothy enjoyed. Recently she loved to play cards and a round of "pitch" at the Monroe City Nutrition Center with friends. Most of all, Dorothy simply enjoyed the time she shared with her family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe County Cancer Supporters.
