Kenneth Kowalke Obituary

Kenneth Eugene Kowalke was born in Maple Plain, MN, on Aug. 30, 1946, and died on Jan. 8, 2025, age 78, at Mayo Clinic in Mankato, MN, after a short and sudden illness.

Ken's primary work was anything to do with the outdoors. In his later years, you could find him in his garden and tending a herd of cats on the family farm, where he lived with his brother, as well as watching the Twins and Vikings.

Ken was known to be kind and generous to all, but especially children and animals. He never met a stranger who he didn't try to help, and always stopped when he saw someone stuck on the side of the road.

Favorite memories of Ken include going on "adventures" with his kids and grandkids, including building a river raft, hours-long hikes, playing in the creek, building campfires and snowmen, and going to the lake.

Ken is survived by his brother Leroy and sister Margaret; as well as four children, Shalin (Angela), Kenya (Cory) Arrants, Shaun (Abbie), and Kary; and 11 grandchildren, Britt, Claire, Mya, Preston, Calvin, Sammy, Mila, Olivia, Tony, Terran, and Asher.

Ken is preceded in death by his father Amos, mother Lois, and beloved dog Raja.

A visitation service will be held on March 15th at 2pm at the The Highlands Church at 680 Woodland Road, Delano, MN 55328.
