Stanford J. Bauernschmitt

Stanford J. Bauernschmitt, age 89, of Maple Plain passed away Friday, May 30, 2025 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.

Funeral Service will take place Monday, June 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home (141 E 1st St.) in Waconia with Father James Devorak as officiant. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment in Lewis Cemetery in Maple Plain.

Stanford Joseph Bauernschmitt was born January 23, 1936 in Waconia, MN, the son of Joseph and Mabel (Hudlow) Bauernschmitt. He was baptized and later confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waconia. He graduated from Waconia High School.

Standford was content in simple things. He loved time spent in the outdoors; fishing and maintaining his yard. He enjoyed playing the Concertina and listening to Old Tyme Music and free moments were spent taking in a baseball game or enjoying a good meal out with loved ones.

Stanford was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mabel Bauernschmitt; siblings Dorothy and Willard Krause, Lorraine Bauernschmitt, Douglas Bauernschmitt, Shirley Bauernschmitt, Richard Krotzer, Ralph Bauernschmitt, Hillard Bauernschmitt, Doug Bauernschmitt; niece Emily Krotzer.

Stanford is survived by his loving family: siblings Audrey Krotzer of Maple Plain, Wilbert and Joan Bauernschmitt of Montrose; nieces and nephews Linda and Richie Ordorff, Barbara Gabrelcik, Ellen Krause, Jackie and Charles Weishaar, Jeffrey and Sarah Krotzer, Rodney Krotzer, Brady and Vicki Kreger, Jill and John Heinbuch, Dawn and Kevin Benshoof, Wayne and Katie Bauernschmitt, Stacy and Ron Bray; great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Casket Bearers are Jeff Krotzer, Wayne Bauernschmitt, Brady Kreger, Cory Krotzer Sr., Xavier Krotzer and Kevin Benshoof.
