Richard Ray Obituary

Funeral services for longtime Eads, Colo. resident, Richard L. Ray, age 59, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar. Reverend Ian Blacker will officiate the service.

Following cremation a private family inurnment will take place at a later date.

Visitation for Richard will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 2 and prior to the service on Saturday at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar.

Richard was born on August 3, 1948 in Las Animas, Colo. and died on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at his home in Eads with his family by his side.

Mr. Ray was preceded in death by his father, Archie Ray of Lamar; and by his mother Bessie Noble-Ray of Montrose, Colo.

He is survived by four children, Laura Lyn Ray of Chicago, Ill., Chad (Krissy) Ray of Eads, Tony (Dana) Ray of Chicago, Ill., and Neil (Melanie) Ray of Pampa, Texas; by four grandchildren; by five brothers and sisters, Glenys (Duffy) Griffith of Colorado Springs, Colo., Glen Ray of Pueblo, RoseAnn Smith of Grand Junction, Colo., Kenneth (Linda) Ray of Loveland, Colo., and Ronald (Debbie) Ray of Sacramento, Calif. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.

Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Lamar Area Hospice either directly or through Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar.

Visitation and funeral services for Richard L. Ray are under the direction of Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar, Colo.
