Danny Clarke Obituary

Danny Clarke

Lancaster - Danny D. Clarke, 73 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away with his wife and daughter by his side at Fairfield Medical Center on Friday, February 12, 2021 due to complications of COVID. He fought to the very end, so brave and so strong, just the way he lived his life.

Danny was born on April 28, 1947 in Lancaster, Ohio. He graduated from Lancaster High School in the "Class of 1965". He served in the U.S. Navy for 11 years from 1966 to 1977. He was class MR1 E-6 Machinery Repairman and was a Navy Diver. He then served in the reserves.

Danny was a skilled machinist and was Vice President of Memac Industries Inc.

He had previously worked at Abrasive Technology as a Supervisor, Rockwell International, B&T Welding and BF Goodrich. Danny was a member of the Lancaster Country Club, the Moose and Eagles in Lancaster and he attended the X Church in Canal Winchester on-line. Danny loved to golf and going out to dinner with his wife and friends. Danny loved the finer things in life including the finer restaurants "of course" and oysters on the half shell, Jack Daniels Manhattans, Bone in Ribeyes, noodles and Corvettes. He enjoyed telling stories and making people laugh and was extremely passionate about life. His stories would get better and longer every time he told them, "to make a long story short".

Danny would light up a room with his presence. He made friends easily and made people feel comfortable. He was loved and admired by many.

Danny was very strong willed about some things, had a heart of gold and a sensitive side. He had a soft spot for animals and children. He would often tear up and get emotional about things he cared for and was passionate about.

Danny is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Carol Figgins-Clarke, and their fur baby Abby, Daughter and Son-In-Law Wendy (Peanut) and Eric Coffey, Son Brian Clarke, Grandchildren, Nick Pickering, CJ Coffey, and Carson Coffey, all of Grove City, Tyler Clarke, Taylor Clarke, Chandler Clarke, Spencer Clarke and Avery Clarke, and Great Grandson Christian Clarke, all of Lancaster, Sister Sherri Clarke of Texas, Special Mother-In-Law Anne Figgins of Florida. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dwight Clarke Jr., and Jackie (Burgett) Wilson, Nephew Derrick Cole, Mother-In-Law Ruth Figgins, Father-In-Law Roger Figgins, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The Family would like to thank all of the nurses at Fairfield Medical Center COVID UNIT and ICU for their exceptional care of Danny. They and the Doctors made an effort every day sometimes 2 to 3 times a day to update the family on Danny's progress while he was in quarantine for 20 days with no visitors allowed. We would also like to thank Dr. Jerrod Bruce and his associates for their care and compassion for Danny and his family.

A private funeral service will be held at Sheridan Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Rauch of the X Church officiating with interment following at Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Danny to the Fairfield Area Humane Society, 1721 Granville Pike, Lancaster, OH 43130.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date when it's safe. R.I.P. Marlboro Man, love you forever!

I am so sorry Carol. Danny was such a great guy, and whenever I would see him in the studio, he always had a smile and a story. I always liked his snoopy shirts! He will be greatly missed by many and I pray the good Lord will keep you in his loving arms.
Rest In Peace, Danny.
