Don Petty Obituary
LANCASTER: Don F. Petty 80 of Lancaster, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and his wife of 56 years with his family by his side on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Fairfield Medical Center.
He was a Sgt. in the Ohio National Guard and a retired material planner for Rockwell International with 35 years of service receiving several accommodations for his inventions. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed music along with playing music. Don was about family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Lou Ann (Oscar) Ward of Lancaster, Ohio, Pam (Joe) Krueger of Millersport, Ohio, Donna Brenstuhl of Lancaster, Ohio, Doug (Kelly) Petty of Michigan, Dianna L. McLaughlin of Lancaster, Ohio, and Matt (Chris) Petty of Canal Winchester, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, Andy, Cory, Carrie, Abby, Josh, Casey, Jeremy, Jay, Rachel, Jennifer, Mandi and Zach; 10 great grandchildren, Grace, Sophia, Caleb, Izabella, Maddox, Madison, Parker, Carter, Bailey and Wesley; sister, Jean Pence of Lancaster, Ohio and Linda (Nelson) Jeanise of Florida; many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Fairfield Medical Center ICU, Palliative Care Unit, Dr. Douglas Pope, Dr. Tenza and the staff of Main Street Terrace Nursing Home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie L. Petty, parents, Fremont and Hazel Petty, brothers, Larry and John Petty.
Funeral service will be held Friday, April 27, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Pastor Mark Clingan officiating. Burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial gifts may be given to FairHoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130.

Pam, I'm very sorry to hear about your father. I will always remember when your Dad was the manager at the old Domino's pizza when it was there at Main & Cherry Street back in the late 60's.
He was a very fine man and a pleasure to work for, and you were a good friend and classmate. May our Lord's amazing grace comfort your family in this difficult time.
