Mikel Welsh Obituary
LANCASTER: Mikel L. Welsh, age 80 of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at The Inn at Winchester Trail. He was born July 6, 1936 in Columbus, son of the late Glendon D. and Emmadale (Woodruff) Welsh. He was a member of The Little Country Church for over 25 years. He served in the Army and the Ohio National Guard and was retired from Diamond Power. He was a member of the Lancaster Jaycees where he helped build the Lancaster Bandstand and Beavers Field; Mikel also served his community as a Mason and member of the Moose, Elks, and the Aladdin Shrine. In his retirement, he enjoyed working at Lowe's. Golf was also a true passion of his and he even enjoyed making golf clubs for himself and others. Lastly, he enjoyed sport shooting and was a member of Pheasants Forever.
He is survived by his daughters, Aimee (David) Walton, of Carroll and Julee (Craig) Eing, of Pickerington; grandchildren, Chelsea (Doug), Kayla, Lindy, Holly, Katelin, Austin, McKinley, Mary and Chad; great granddaughter, Nadia. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary (Rothenberger) Welsh; infant sister, RachieAnn Welsh.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2016 at SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME with Rev. William Beuasay officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Sorry to hear of Mike's passing. He was fun to work with during my years at Diamond Power. He was very involved with many company functions. I recall all of the work we put in together for the Children's Christmas Parties. He was also very involved with the community, including building the Lancaster Bandstand. Later on, after he retired, he was always a friendly face whenever I went to Lowe's for project supplies. Mike, may you rest in peace
