Scott McCrady Obituary
SUGAR GROVE: Scott R. McCrady, 45, of Sugar Grove, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at his home with loved ones by his side. He was born on June 9, 1968 to Linda (McCrady) Hayes. Scott was a Captain at the Berne TWP Fire Department. He enjoyed remodeling his home, hunting, and fishing. Scott was an avid John Deere collector and also loved to collect antique tools. He had a wonderful sense of humor.
Scott is survived by his son, Austin Noland; granddaughter, Kalli Noland; mother, Linda Hayes; aunts, Susie Ruh, Sandy (Jim) Holcomb, Leah McCrady, Nancy McCrady and Shirley Lupton; special cousin, Brooke Shearer and many other cousins; Wichterman and the Fluharty family; Hayes family; special four legged friend, Bear.
Scott was preceded in death by grandparents, Tom and Minnie McCrady; aunt Sara McCrady; uncles, Neil, Richard, and Edward McCrady; cousin, James McCrady; step-father, James Hayes.
The family would like to thank Scott's caregiver Tori Frisbee for all the care she provided for Scott.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 24 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sugar Grove with Fr. James A. Walter as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Friday, August 23 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME where a vigil service will be conducted at 7:45 PM.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Berne TWP Fire Department in memory of Scott.

Scott touched so many people with his humor and friendliness. He never knew a stranger. He was dedicated to family, to his department and to his community. He never let his weakened legs stop or slow him, as he was frequently seen riding through the village, checking on friends and the fire department. I admire his fight and his courage. Sugar Grove will trully miss you Scott.

Rest in Peace our dear childhood friend, "Scotty" or "Cot" as my younger brother would call him. Scott lived down the street from us and we will always remember his sense of humor and laughter. His grandparents, Minne and Tom always welcomed the "Couch" kids in their home, and we all loved their kindness, and friendship. Thinking and praying for you all during this difficult time.
