Sharon Whitmer Obituary

LANCASTER: Sharon Lee Rainier Whitmer, 62 of Lancaster, passed away Friday May 22, 2009 at The Pickering House.
Sharon was born in Lancaster on December 2, 1946 to Carl Robert and Wanda Lucille Anderson Rainier. Sharon was a very active member of The Victory Hill Church of God. Sharon was also a volunteer chaplain for the Fairfield Medical Center.
Sharon is survived by her father, Carl Rainier of Lancaster; daughter, Danielle (Jeff Cook) Finnefrock of Lancaster; brother, Gary (Martha) Rainier; sisters, Penny (Ron) McDole of Lancaster, and Sandy Rainier of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Brittany, Courtney, Eron, Trevor, Katlyn, Zachary, and Hunter; aunt, Flora (Pat) Agosta of Lancaster; uncle, Loy Huston of Lancaster; many nieces, nephews; great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother; husband, Max Eugene Whitmer who passed away in January, 2002; aunt, Leona Huston; uncles, James and Kenneth Anderson.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday May 26, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. at The Victory Hill Church of God, 4000 Coonpath Road Lancaster, Ohio with Pastor Tim Teague and Evangelist Lois Hoshor officiating. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the church. In following Sharon's wishes, a caring cremation will take place with burial at a future date. THE FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 North Columbus Street, Lancaster is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations made to The Pickering House, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or The American Cancer Society Region-FAIR, 870 Michigan Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43215 in Sharon's name.
