Thomas Dreier Obituary
Carroll - Thomas E. Dreier Sr., Tom passed away on June 16, 2021, at the age of 79, after a 5-year battle with a form of Parkinson's Disease. Tom was dedicated to his family, friends and Town Tavern patrons. Known as "Mr. Fix-It", Tom was always willing to help those in need. Tom was born to the late George A. Dreier and Irene E. (Betty) Dreier on May 8th, 1942. After graduating from Lancaster High School in 1960, he went on to pursue a career as an electric plater. He was a member of the Electrical Workers Local 2020 Union and worked for Western Electric/ATT/ Lucent Technologies for over 43 years. He was also the proud owner of the Town Tavern in Carroll from 1984-2016, where many knew of his fondness for George "No Show" Jones.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Carole (Stalter) Dreier; children, Jackie (Randy) Hammond; Tom (Cheryl) Dreier Jr.; Nikki (Matt) Smith; Grandchildren, Danielle (Nick) Rasper, Brandon (Amanda) Hammond, Drew (Kylee Fury) Hammond, Brittany (Aaron) Walters, Camryn Smith, Zachary Smith and 7 great grandchildren, Madilyn, Jameson, and Ryder Walters, Emma and Levi Rasper, Anthony and Rylee Hammond; brothers, Winston Dreier, Bill (Renee) Dreier, Herman (Sherri) Dreier, Frank (Eileen) Dreier and Jon (Kathy) Dreier and sister Susie (Rob) Carpenter; sister-in-laws, Diane (Stan) Schorr and Diane Stalter, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, brother-in-law, John (Butch) Stalter, and sister-in-law, Helen Dreier.
A special thank you to Jackie and Randy Hammond for their love and care of Tom over the past few months.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, June 21, 2021, from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM at the Sheridan Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, officiated by Dr. John C. Davidson. Burial will follow the service at the Carroll Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Heartland Hospice of Circleville.
