Thomas VanMeter Obituary

Thomas E. Van Meter

PATASKALA: Thomas E. Van Meter, 62, of Pataskala passed away April 4, 2014 at his home. Tom was originally from Bremen. He graduated in 1969 from Fairfield Union High School. Tom was employed by ASI Corp for 27 years. Tom was in the Army and served in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Gahanna. Tom loved watching NASCAR Races and was an avid Jeff Gordon fan. He also enjoyed watching the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Tom is survived by his loving wife and best friend Roxie J. Van Meter; daughter Vanessa Vickroy of Sugar Grove; father Everett "Jake" Van Meter; brother Ron "Jake" Van Meter and sister Charlotte Bigham all of Bremen; sister-in-law Dixie Hardy of Pleasantville; granddaughters Tashia West of Buckeye Lake, Jayla West of Newark; niece Holly Hardy Burton of Sunbury. He was preceded in death by his mother Mabel Van Meter.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:30AM Tuesday April 8, 2014 at the SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster with Pastor Connie Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memory Garden with military honors. Visitation will be on Monday April 7 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the funeral home.

Roxie Terry n I are so sorry. We just got back to Ohio as we live in Florida much of the time. I was catching up on Lancaster news and read this and was so Sad. We just loved Tom. Kelli loved the tines he would come in the store. Our prayers are with you now and always. He was one of a kind and he will be missed Dearly. All our Love n hugs n prayers. God be with you
