Joseph Odermatt Obituary

Joseph Henry Odermatt of Las Vegas died peacefully at his home from pancreatic cancer on April 10, surrounded by friends and family.

He is survived by wife Edith; his daughter, Phoebe; his stepdaughter, Kyla; and his sister, Mary.

Joe was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on October 31, 1952, to George and Gertrude Odermatt and joined a family that included two older sisters, Mary and Barbara.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He attended Highlands University where he graduated with a master's in history.

His collected poetic works were posthumously published in a book titled "Negative Capacity," which dealt with the possibility of a human life.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 Saturday, April 23 at The Spot, 1413 Chavez St.
