Alfred, thank you for the opportunity to have known you. Over the years you have influenced and encouraged so many to persue a career in Photography. Memories of conversations shared with you inspire me to "Always do my best" both as a photographer, and as a person. You leave behind a wonderful legacy in those who were fortunate enough to have crossed your path. Alfred, you are missed. To Selma and your family, my deepest condolences for your loss. Rest in peace Alfred.

My dearest of all Alfred, who was much more a friend than just an uncle, changed my life by helping me to switch from social work to photography in the 1960s. Ever since, in spite of the great geographical distance between us, we kept steady contact, discussing profession and life in general. He was the wisest and kindest person I knew, my great friend and mentor. I already miss him terribly...

Mr. Benjamin gave me my start in photography and the wonderful years at Orthopaedic Hospital. He was generous with his knowledge and I learned so much from him, giving me the opportunity to do what I loved. I was lucky to work for him and at the same time meet my closest friend and husband. Thanks, Mr. B for giving me the life I have had. My heart goes out to Selma.

Alfred was a major inspiration to me, my children and many of my closest friends and family members. He was always full of energy and creativity! He was innately able to make me smile or laugh during some of the darkest periods of my life. He encouraged and celebrated my life accomplishments that were made possible by him being an intricate part of my life's journey. Alfred lived life to its fullest extent! The indelible essence of his presence will live on and on.....

Mr. Benjamin) as my entire family called him) truly gave my mother a chance and changed the course of my family's future forever. I thank Mr. Benjamin for this and know he looks down from above and is smiling at my mother and all the wonderful things he empowered her to achieve.

Alfred was a man who dedicated his life in helping others. He was my mentor in photography and the one individual who gave, and guided my professional career as a Medical Communications Specialist. I'm saddened, and I want to extend my condolences to his beautiful family.

Only five months older than my own father, who died 24 years ago, Alfred was an inspiration to all that knew him; he never lost the curiosity of his youth, he was an admirable husband, father, grandfather, photographer, friend, and above all, a student of life where he should have been the teacher. I will miss him enormously. My heart goes to his beautiful wife, Selma, his daughters and his grandchildren, and all of those who knew him and profited from his wisdom and great sense of humor. With all my love and admiration,
and as I used to write to him: "Wie immer, Dein,"
