Alice Geller Obituary

Geller, Alice Podberesky
Alice Podberesky Geller died on May 1, 2009 at the age of 93. She lived a productive, giving, loving and very contented life . She never said a cruel word about anyone and gave love freely and unconditionally. Her mantra for her children was "education, education, education" and they heeded her. She is survived by her son Stephen A. Geller, M.D. and daughter-in-law Kate, her grandson David, and his wife Cathia, her great grand-daughter Lila, her granddaughter Jennifer and her partner, William, and by her younger son, Dennis P. Geller, Ph.D., his partner Alice, and his children Elizabeth and Joshua. Smart, capable and highly conscientious, she received accolades and awards from her youth to beyond her retirement as she volunteered in schools and hospitals to almost her 90th year. She will be greatly missed by family and friends who had the great fortune to know her.

Alice, I miss you and think about you so often. We clicked from the day we met and I loved you like my own grandmother. I'm so glad you got to meet Lila too. You always used to play "this little piggy went to market" with her as a baby. I wish we had had more time together but the many reminders around the house will keep you close until we meet again. - Love, Cathia
