Andrea Rawlings

December 2023 Andrea Rawlings – Beloved wife, aunt, architect, chef, artist, city commissioner and friend to many died unexpectedly in December in Pasadena. She was the daughter of Ann and Gary Rawlings and grew up in Newport Beach. From a young age Andrea knew she wanted to be an architect and graduated from Sci-Arc in Los Angeles. She started her career in 1983 making decisions about where to place the 84 Olympics logo and graphics on venues all over Los Angeles. She went on to work at several architecture firms including 21 years with Levin & Associates where she developed a passion for the preservation of historic buildings in the LA area. She also served on several Pasadena City commissions over 23 years including the Historic Preservation, Design Review, and most recently on the Planning Commission. Many of her close friendships, formed in her early school days or developed from shared interests, deepened and flourished with time, attention, travel and adventures. She was also an exceptional cook, much to the appreciation of her many dinner guests, and most especially to the delight of her adoring husband, E.J. Remson who survives her.
