Andrew Weintraub Obituary

Weintraub, Andrew Michael
October 23, 1953 - March 19, 2013
Andy Weintraub passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at the age of 59. In his exhilarating life, Andy worked as an event coordinator for '70s musicians such as Fleetwood Mac and Carlos Santana, made a 25 year long career as a news cameraman at CBS2/KCAL9 where he received five Emmy Awards, and sailed the beaches of California and Mexico in his free time. He is survived by his son Eric, his siblings Jana and David, their spouses Daniel and Jodi, his nieces and nephews Sammi, Mia and Josh, and his parents Phyllis and Al. Andy, even though your sails have left our shores, you will always be closer than the horizon in our thoughts and memories.

I worked many concerts while at UCSB with Andy and recently saw that Michael Candy passed away and was trying to notify Andy and now find out that he has passed away. I am overwhelmed with grief for these two past friends who I spent many hours with. I hope your family is fine.

I will remember your huge smile and great laugh back in the 70's. There were many beach trips, lake trips and friends laughing. I feel blessed that I found you few years back and was able to spend time catching up and laughing about old times. Rest in Peace Andy.

My deepest, sincere condolences to Andrew's family and his loved ones. Andrew and I first met in our neighborhood (on Wilkinson Ave.) as young children and we were friends for some years since. Unfortunately, we lost contact while I served in the US Army. I have thought of him since and hoped he was doing well in his pursuits. I share my sorrow for his family's loss, yet I'm glad that he seemed to live an active, happy life. Fairwell, old friend! Godspeed.
