Arnold Becker Obituary

February 17, 1930 - March 23, 2018 Arnold Becker passed away peacefully at his home in Century City at the age of 88. He is survived by Susan Tirsch Becker, his wife of 20 years, daughter Nance Becker, son-in-law Bill Keener, and grandsons Zachary Schwartz and Gabriel Schwartz. Arnold was a smart, funny, caring man who was always ready with a kind word and a smile that lit up the room. He will be greatly missed by his loving family, colleagues and many good friends. Arnold was born in Queens, New York where he earned a B.A. at Queens College in 1951, followed by a Master's degree from Columbia University in 1958. He was a second-generation executive with CBS. His father, I.S. ("Zac") Becker was V.P. of Business Affairs for the CBS Radio Network during the 1950s. Arnold worked for CBS Television for 35 years, capping his career as V.P. of Research. After working in the N.Y. office, he relocated to Los Angeles in 1977, retiring after the death of his wife Lynn Becker in 1996. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
