Arnold Goldstein Obituary

February 27, 1933 - January 23, 2024 In Loving Memory of Arnold Daniel Goldstein
Arnold Goldstein, an icon in the real estate industry, passed away on January 23, 2024, leaving behind a rich tapestry of achievements, cherished memories, and a profound impact on those who had the privilege of knowing him. Born on February 27, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, the first of four children to Jack and Pearl Goldstein, Arnold's remarkable journey was defined by an unwavering commitment to excellence, a deep love for his family, and an entrepreneurial spirit that transformed Shorewood Realtors into a powerhouse brokerage.

Arnold Goldstein, the visionary founder of Shorewood Realtors, was more than a businessman; he was the heart and soul of a company that thrived under his leadership for nearly five decades. Founded in 1969, Shorewood Realtors became synonymous with integrity, professionalism, and unparalleled service-a testament to Arnold's relentless pursuit of excellence.

Arnold's journey into real estate began after an initial career in fashion and sales. His innate ability to connect with people and his unwavering work ethic propelled him to remarkable success. In the 1960s, he achieved unprecedented sales numbers, including selling 60 homes in 1964 alone-a feat unmatched in the industry.

Arnold led Shorewood Realtors to unparalleled heights, reporting a staggering $2.25 billion in sales during a 12-month period between 2003 and 2004, making it the largest independent brokerage in LA county, solidifying its position as a market leader and a symbol of excellence in the real estate community.

Arnold's dedication to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of excellence ensured Shorewood's continued growth and success over the decades. His commitment to his employees went beyond professional realms; he viewed them as family, cultivating an environment where camaraderie and love flourished.

Beyond his professional achievements, Arnold had a passion for fashion, notorious for his decadent outfits. He started selling shoes at 14 years old, studied fashion design in college, worked with famed designer William Travilla, and opened a shoe store alongside his son Mark in the early 90s on Melrose called Madison. He loved horses, breeding German Hanoverian performance horses at his Rancho Manana in Rancho Mirage. With his wife Homeira, their enthusiasm for fine dining and contemporary art took them to the best restaurants, wine tastings, and becoming founding members of the American Institute of Wine and Food and prolific art collectors. Arnold was a diehard fan of their son Joshua, never missing a single game of his.

Arnold's impact extended far beyond the confines of his brokerage. He was a mentor, a friend, and a pillar of support for countless individuals who had the privilege of knowing him. His generosity, kindness, and unwavering dedication to serving others left an indelible mark on all who crossed his path.

As we bid farewell to Arnold Goldstein, we celebrate a life well-lived-a life defined by passion, perseverance, and steadfast dedication to his craft. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the honor of knowing him, and his legacy as a visionary leader and a beloved patriarch will continue to inspire us all.

Arnold is survived by his wife Homeira, their son Joshua, and their grandson Silas, as well as his son Mark from his first marriage to his ex-wife Irene, and his granddaughters Jordan and Mia. He lost his daughter Suzanne at age 28.

The memorial service will be held on Monday, January 29 at Hillside Memorial Park, 6001 W Centinela Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90045 at 2:30pm.
