While I knew Ashley many years ago, I always took comfort in knowing that--even though I was nowhere near her recently--she was somewhere out in the world and living it. I’d like to tell her family that Ashley was a powerful individual, and that she had an indelible effect on me and so many others.

I thought the world of Ashley and I thought of her often. I will continue to think of her as a wonderful, perplexing, beautiful, bright woman. She was all that and more. When she entered a room, the room became better than before. People always took notice of her and more often than not, they liked her. Some even loved her. As somebody on that list, I will miss her a great deal.
