...miss you, Mom...more than I could have ever imagined.

I still have one saved voicemail from April 2008 on my cell phone wherein you tell me, "...I wish I could talk with you; Call me when you get in. I watch tv late in the night. I love you. It's Mom. Bye Bye."

I love you, too, Mom xox

I was in the US Navy visiting Malaga,Spain in July 1959 attached to the submarine USS Chopper.I came across the crew shooting the movie Scent of Mystery while I was ashore.I first met Jose Maria Ochoa he introduced me to everyone.I was on the set for a week as their guest.Since I was a diver I filled the camera crews tanks with clean air and did maintenance on them.I could not spend any money they all insisted I accompany the crew every night for dinner.I truly enjoyed my visit to Malaga and Barcelona thanks to them.I will never forget their generous treatment.I spoke to Ms.Bentley a few years back after many years.I spoke of the people on the set she knew I was real.I was searching my declining list of crewmates for photographs taken when the crew visited the sub. I have a booklet from the movie with a 45 RPM at the world premiere Clairege movie house in Montclair,N.J..She said she has a beat up copy I was going to give her mine.she wanted to meet my wife and I in NYC but that fell through due to my sickness.I am so sad to note today, as I came across this site, that she passed away.
She was a kind lady with a sharp wit and excellent memory..

To the Bentley family, I send my deepest sympathy. I was 4 when your Mom and Dad moved from R.I. and I never had the opportunity to get to know my cousin Howard. I did have the great pleasure in meeting your Mom when your grandmother, my Aunt Evelyn passed away. She was very kind and we had a really special visit and I never forgot her. I never had the means to visit as she suggested and I regret not having kept in touch. She was a very special lady. Please believe you are all in my prayers. God bless!
Your cousin, Diane Weldon Gillis

Dear Bonnie, Betsy and Bobbie,

Mike and I are so sad to hear about your Mom. You may not remember that I worked with her at GTE in Santa Monica many many years ago and your family lived in the apartment above us on 6th Street. Beverly was a terrific lady and I remember she had the most incredibly blue eyes. A beautiful lady inside and out. Our condolences to all of you at this time. You'll be in our thoughts and prayers.
