Beverly Joyce Gracey

1922 - 2017

July 31, 1922 - November 1, 2017 Beverly Joyce Gracey, the Matriarch of the family, passed away peacefully at the age of 95, in her own home on November 1, 2017. She is finally able to join her late husband, Yale. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a lifelong Beverly Hills resident. Beverly was born in Los Angeles on July 31, 1922 to Albert and Helen Newman, a pioneer Beverly Hills family. She graduated from Beverly Hills High School and attended UCLA where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1946, Beverly married the love of her life, Yale, and together they raised two sons: Wayne and Lucky Gracey. She has five grandchildren: Robin, Ryan, Miles, Blair, and Nate; and five great-grandchildren: Weston, Grayson, Everly, Emerson, and Hallie. She and Yale did extensive world traveling and particularly loved Mexico and the tropical islands of Hawaii. She was a champion paddle tennis player. She loved gardening, entertaining, traveling, and spending time with family and friends at the beach. Most weekends and all summers, she and her family could be found enjoying their cabana at the Bel-Air Bay Club. The family wishes to thank Lily Jordan, the wonderful caregivers at Ace Home Care Agency, and Unity Hospice for their care, love and support. At her request, a private family service will be held to scatter her ashes at sea, as were her late husband's.
