Loopesko, Bonnie K. July 23, 1923-September 28, 2005 Bonnie K. Loopesko, a longtime Westchester resident, died peacefully on September 28, 2005 at the age of 82 of heart failure. A lifelong California resident, Mrs. Loopesko was born and raised in Long Beach. After her marriage to Dr. Eugene Loopesko in 1943, she was an active member of the Westchester community. She taught piano for some 25 years and enthusiastically participated in a number of community organizations, including Community Concerts, the Westchester Women's Club and the Los Angeles World Affairs Council. A competitive diver and beach volleyball player in her youth, she swam, skied and played tennis as an adult. She traveled extensively overseas and enjoyed visits with family and numerous friends throughout Europe. She helped manage a family ranch in Texas and was a frequent visitor to her ranch in the Pampa area, where she had many close friends and relatives. Also a frequent visitor to the Southwest United States, she was an ardent supporter of American Indian causes and an avid collector of Indian art and artifacts. Mrs. Loopesko received an Associate of Arts degree from the University of California Berkeley in 1943 and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from UCLA in 1968. She is survived by Eugene, her devoted husband of 62 years; her two loving children, Windham Loopesko in Denver, CO, and Bonnie Johnson in Greenwich, CT; and five beloved grandchildren, William, Christopher and Lydia Loopesko and Nicholas and Natalie Johnson.
