Driving home today, a song played on my Spotify discover that you would have absolutely loved and introduced me to while we drove around LA. For a moment, I felt you there next to me, and I felt a lightness.

When I remember you, I remember your shining smile, our inside jokes, and your courageous heart. It is unfathomably difficult to put into words how unfair losing you still feels one year later.

You will live on in a special place in my heart reserved just for you. I miss you. I love you.

God bless your soul Brian. I´d like to send my sincerest condolences to the Carlton family. I met Brian about three years ago in Joshua tree, around a camp fire with friends. Behind Brian´s charming smile and silliness (which I later came to understand more) was a vast depth of empathy and compassion. It was nice to start off our friendship in that manner. I wish we spent more time together. The last time we hung out was in the fall of 2022, when we went to get bratwursts. Brian ordered a German beer that was traditionally made by monks, as he enlightened us. He talked about his love for Spanish food, culture and his trip to Italy. He always had a positive spin on things. If it´s any mark Brian´s left with anyone he´s met, it´s the mark of compassion. You will be missed buddy.

We became friends when I met you in LA back in 2016 and became really good friends when you moved back to LA. I´ll never forget our nights going to Korean spas, getting sushi all over the city, walking along the beach in Marina del Rey. Your elaborate collection of beautiful antiques, your eclectic collection of eyewear, your fancy jackets that you loved... I´m gonna miss you so much buddy. I hate that I didn´t find out about this until weeks later... I hate that you aren´t here... I miss you, Brian. May your family and loved ones find strength. I love you always Brian
