HOURIGAN,Brian Francis( 63)
Died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 24, 2002 in Santa Barbara, California. Born March 7, 1938 in Denver, Colorado to Frank M. and Alice E. Stile Hourigan, who preceded him in death. Married Terri Ann Williams August 6, 1988. Loving and devoted husband of Terri Ann Williams Hourigan and beloved father of Kirstie Ann and Michael Patrick. Brian's passion was collecting and viewing fine art. He was an avid reader. Graduate of University of California, Berkeley, in Economics and Golden Gate Law School. Admitted to California Bar Association and California Applicants Attorneys Association. Active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He worked for the State Compensation Insurance Fund in San Francisco and Oxnard before moving to Santa Barbara in March of 1974 to join a law firm specializing in workers compensation. He was the founding member of Hourigan and Holzman. Brian chose to represent the injured, the homeless, and the downtrodden. He took to heart their problems and carried them with him. He was a friend to the friendless. This complex, yet humble, man honored the lives of all around him with his kindness, generosity, integrity and humanity. Calling hours at Welch-Ryce-Haider Mortuary from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2002. Funeral services Friday, March 1, 2002, 12:00 Noon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Santa Barbara Stake Center, 478 Cambridge Drive, Goleta, California. (805) 967-4812. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a charity of one's choice or to Hospice of Santa Barbara, 520 W. Junipero Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93105, in memory of Brian's mother, Alice.
