Carol Blad Obituary
October 16, 1934 - January 19, 2010
Mrs. Blad was born in Belleville, IL, moving to Southern California in the 1950s. She met her husband, Leiv, working on the presidential campaign of John F. Kennedy. Mrs. Blad chaired the Democratic Party of the San Fernando Valley from 1993-1996.
Mrs. Blad earned her nursing degree from St. Louis University, and worked at Kaiser Permanente in Panorama City and at Orange County Hospital, where she was instrumental in setting up the first burn unit in Southern California.
Mrs. Blad is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Leiv, sons Leiv and James, daughter Mary, and grandchildren sara, Erik, Agnes and Aidan. Mrs. Blad was predeceased by her daughter, Susan, in 2006.
