Carolyn Sklar Obituary

February 26, 1932 - July 24, 2016 Carolyn Pearl Sklar, of San Diego, peacefully passed in her sleep. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She lived in San Diego her entire life where she met her future husband. She moved to attend UCLA where she became engaged to Irwin her husband of 50 years. Carolyn was a very strong, bright woman. Family was everything to her. She was a devoted wife to Irwin and lovingly cared for him in the last years of his life. Survivors include children, David Sklar, Lori Sklar (Richard Glucksman), and Terri Hacker (Tamir); and eight loving grandchildren Jason, Lindsey, Emily, Jonathon, Jared, Zachary, Hayley and Andrew. She had many passions beyond family including football, golf, baking, knitting, needlepoint, games (bridge, mahjong & pan) and pets. She loved travelling and being with her family. After her husband passed she was determined to move to Los Angeles to be with her children and grandchildren. She made the difficult move and lived out the remainder of her life close by with her family. She will be missed but she will be at peace. Private Funeral services will be held at El Camino Memorial in San Diego.
