Cathleen Thomas Obituary
Cathleen (Casey) Thomas died Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at her home in Agoura from complications of cancer. Casey was born July 30, 1940 in Stockton, CA. She was adopted by James and Frances Cagney as their second child along side her brother, James Jr. She grew up in Southern California and Martha's Vineyard attending private schools and living in the shadow of her famous father. She married writer Jack Thomas, who was employed by her father on their Chatsworth farm, in 1961. The couple moved to Malibu Lake a year later where Jack still resides. Casey gave birth to two daughters, Verney in 1965 and Christina in 1967. Casey and Jack divorced in 1981, but remained friends until her death. Casey is survived by her two daughters, Verney and Christina, 5 grandchildren Ashley, Dakota, Blake, and Jaqueline, 2 sons-in-law Oren and Tony, and her ex-husband Jack Thomas. A memorial service will be held Aug. 28 at Seminole Springs Mobile Home Park in Agoura Hills at 5pm.
