Words alone cannot express my adoration for Charles.
First Cousins and best friends we grew up living only a mile apart in Louisiana. As young children he would walk in my direction and I would walk in his direction and we would meet in the middle to spend many wonderful hours playing together.
As young adults Charles and I shared an apartment in New York City—such a memorable time.
Charles introduced me to my soul mate and later husband, John Godfrey-Set Decorator.
John was Charles’ first boss in the movie industry and Charles and John shared a close bond, each admiring the other’s excellent taste, intelligence and talent.
Charles would call me on my birthday regardless of where in the world he might be—something I looked forward to each year.
Through the years, Charles and I have shared so many wonderful times together. As a young girl I attended my first Broadway Show with Charles, “Gypsy” and several months ago we went together to see “The Full Monty”.
Since Charles was a few years older, I always looked up to him and admired his every accomplishment. He was truly a genius not only in his talent, his intellect, his quick wit, but also in his keen understanding of others’ needs and his ability to unselfishly meet those needs and desires.
I love you Charles!

Charles was my oldest brother. I will miss him eternally. His sense of humor was one that could double me over in a split second into laughter that brought tears. He never in 52 years missed calling me on my birthday even when he was working away on movie sets in distant horizons. He was the kindest man I have ever known. God bless and keep you in his arms dear brother. I will forever keep your memory within my heart.

Charles' youngest sister.
He was taken from us too soon.
