I first met David at Arizona Middle School. He was an excellent teacher and had a great sense of humor. He would stop by our house for a quick hello and raid the cupboards for a snack. One summer he and I ran Victoria Avenue together a few times- down to Van Buren and back- five miles at a pretty good pace for two teachers on summer break. He had a big personality and a bigger heart. He will be dearly missed. Love, Annie Falck

Mr. Bluestein was my 8th grade history teacher in 1997 at Arizona Middle School. In fact, his class and his method of teaching has always stood out to me after all these years because he knew how to make it fun. Mr. Bluestein often shared his travels with the class showing us pictures of all the different states he visited. He was great at incorporating it into a history lesson with background stories of the historical significance in the places he visited. Mr. Bluestein was absolutely my favorite teacher I have ever had with his high energy, great sense of humor and his loud voice echoing through the halls if his door was open. I now work for the district although I never got to stop in and say hello, I think he would have got a big kick out that. Rest easy Mr. Bluestein you achieved your goal of teaching the younger generation about America's history that you were so passionate about.

Mr. Bluestein,
I was in your 8th grade US History class in 2002. I still fondly remember your impassioned lessons about the Lewis and Clark Expedition, the Civil War and countless other topics that would be to exhausting to list out here. You instilled a passion in learning that led to me becoming a teacher my self. Thank you for your service and dedication.

To the Bluestein family and its extended family members,
I did not know David personally but have been friends with Ann for over 40 years. Even though I did not have a personal connection with David, I share your grief and loss on his passing. He was taken from you too soon and I am hoping that the many wonderful memories he left you with can help to fill the hole that also exists. It is redundant to say there are no words, but there are no words. My heart goes out to all of you.
