Donald B. Macmillan

1933 - 2024

May 7, 1933 - September 8, 2024 It is with much sorrow that we share the death of Donald B. Macmillan. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. The cause of death was complications from Alzheimer's Disease.
Don was born in Victoria, B.C. to Donald and Lillian Macmillan. He was the eldest of 3 sons, the brother of Jack and Robert. He met his Norwegian wife, Olaug, while he was working for Anglo-Canadia Shipping, and she was the ship's radio officer for the Fred Olsen Company.
Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, Don and Olaug were married and were then soon blessed by the birth of their only child, Laurie. They felt that the birth of their two beautiful and much loved grandsons, Connor (32) and Andrew (30), was the pinnacle of their senior years.
Don spent most of his career working for Crown Records before starting his own company, Macola Records. He also produced and was nominated for a Grammy for one of his album cover designs.
A celebration of his life will be held on October 26, 2024 at the Norwegian Seamen's Church in San Pedro at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the church would be appreciated.
