Edwin Clay Obituary

CLAY Edwin Clay died August 24th at St. Catherine Laboure following an extended illness. Mr. Clay was a native of Lewisburg, Tennessee and a World War II veteran, serving in the USN in the Pacific. He attended Emory & Henry College and graduated from the University of Georgia. He was an active member of Arlington United Methodist Church, serving on numerous boards, and as a Sunday school teacher. He was a member of Arlington Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He also served his community by volunteering at St. Lukes Hospital. Ed was a loving husband, father and grandfather who exhibited a wonderful sense of humor and a positive spirit throughout his life. Besides spending time with his family, he enjoyed bowling, coin collecting, softball, golf, golf, and more golf. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Rosamond; three devoted daughters, Elaine Ray (Robert) of Longwood, Florida, Barbara McNeal (Wayne) and Teresa Lussier of Jacksonville; five grandchildren, Rob, Jordan and Ashley Ray, Lindsay McNeal and Natalie Lussier; one sister, Melanie Rachal and two nephews, New Orleans, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. Services will be Tuesday, August 27th at 11 a.m., Arlington Methodist Church with Dr. Ken Minton and Dr. Monroe Hatch officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arlington United Methodist Church, 1400 University Blvd. N., 32211, or to Arlington Rotary Club, 2554 University Blvd. N., 32211 Please sign the Guestbook at Jacksonville.com
